Come and join us for a new in-person event that the Department of Chemistry at the University of Miami is hosting for prospective students interested in applying to graduate school. The initiative, “Chemistry Invitational: How to Successfully Get into Graduate School”, will demystify the graduate school application process and will emphasize the ins and outs of our graduate program at the U. During this event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and graduate students during a poster session, Q&A panels, and one-on-one meetings. We aim to nurture friendly and helpful discussions in an informal, inclusive, and diverse environment. The following topics and questions will be addressed:

  • Application package to Graduate School – What’s in it?

  • The type of appointments you can have – what do teaching and research assistant positions mean?

  • What can you expect financially?

  • What does the admission committee consider when evaluating candidates?

  • What does it take to thrive in a PhD program?

  • What unique opportunities does pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry lead to?
